About This Project
An experiment in random manipulation of images. These images were modified without the use of any image editing program such as Photoshop. Instead the images were opened as text documents and the actual textual information was edited by deleting, adding, copying, and repeating the code that makes up the visual image. These are the results of those experiments, beginning with the original images and then showing the degradation of the image as the code is slowly changed over time.
The most appealing part of this project to me are the serrendiptous results that occur. I have a great deal of interest in the random aspects of creation. Randomness is difficult to produce (at least for me) because of the deliberateness of the creation process. I find that the more I allow myself to explore, the greater the chance that it will result in something better than I can intentionally come up with. This project is an extreme example of that since I have very little control over the final product.
